Class A CDL Driver - Minot

Summary: Drives truck equipped with dump body (side, end, or belly) to transport and dump materials such as sand, gravel, or rock by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following and are in no particular order. Other duties may be assigned at any time. Pre and Post Trip Inspection of every truck he/she drives. Drives Truck to various destinations within Minot and surrounding communities, uses various electronic navigation resources to ensure the proper route is taken in the most efficient manner. Interact with customers in a professional yet timely efficient manner. Uses time efficiently. Operates truck to ensure safe and proper dumping in locations requested by customers. Responsible for the condition and cleanliness of truck they are operating. Drivers are responsible for greasing their own truck weekly. Inspects material to ensure it has been loaded correctly and is secure and not overloaded. Must be able to correctly identify material being hauled. Verifies delivery information is correct and complete, including contact name and phone number of customer. Maintains driver log according to regulations. Driver must be in DOT compliance at all times and maintain a clean driving record during employment with Gravel Products, Inc. Follows all safety and security procedures in accordance with OSHA and MSHA regulations. Reports potentially unsafe conditions immediately; Uses equipment and materials properly; Understands all DOT Safety regulations. Operators may only use hands free phone while driving or operating any GPI equipment.

Oral Communication: Speaks clearly and persuasively in positive and negative situations. Listens and asks for clarification when instructions are unclear. Responds well to questions.

Written Communication: Writes clearly and informatively. Completes detailed time card and load sheets in legible manner. Able to read and interpret written information.

Physical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Required to sit, stand regularly. Frequent entering and exiting truck. Able to clean out material from truck when it is stuck. Able to lift 10 pounds frequently, 50 pounds occasionally, and move/lift 100 pounds at times. Distance vision and depth perception. Smoking is prohibited in any company vehicle in accordance with ND Century Code 23-12-09 and 23-12-10. All employees will follow Gravel Products, Inc. policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook. This is not an inclusive list and other duties/requirements may be given upon verbal instruction by any supervisor within Gravel Products, Inc.
