Summary: Weld, fabricate and repair of various equipment for aggregate setting. Work within compliance of MSHA and GPI safety standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following and are in no particular order. Other duties may be assigned at any time.
Operate a welding machine, acetylene torch and other welding or fabrication equipment.
Use of specific types of welding rods when necessary to make specialized and basic welds.
Reads blueprints, lays out, fabricates and cuts.
Pre and Post Trip Inspection of every piece of equipment he/she operates.
Uses time efficiently.
Follow direction and guidance of weld shop supervisor.
Must be able to work overtime and a flexible work schedule.
Possibly may be required to help set up and tear down the plant at each new job site, including setting blocks, pulling cords, and any other duty as assigned.
Possibly may be required to help change screens on plant when required. Physical requirements for this include bending, lifting over 50 pounds, crawling in tight spaces.
If operator is a Class A/B holder, must be in DOT compliance at all times and maintain a clean driving record during employment with Gravel Products, Inc.
Operators may only use hands free phone while driving or operating any GPI equipment.
Follows all safety and security procedures in accordance with OSHA and MSHA regulations. Reports potentially unsafe conditions immediately; Uses equipment and materials properly; Understands and complies with all MSHA and company safety regulations.
Other duties as assigned.

Required to sit, stand regularly, crawl in tight spaces often, carry/pull 50-80 pound parts into tight spaces occasionally.
Frequent entering and exiting equipment, which includes climbing ladder into and out of equipment or vans.
Able to lift 20 pounds frequently, 50 pounds occasionally, and move/lift 100 pounds at times.
Distance vision and depth perception.

23-12-10.
